Meditation:

Consecrate a fast! “Consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly; gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.” Joel 1:14

Reflection:

In Joel’s day instruction was given that would bring a much needed breakthrough. The people were experiencing a drought in the land and invasion that was depleting their natural, economic and human resources. Today in Alaska the drought we are experiencing is a lack of righteousness in the land and the locusts are manifesting as suicide, drug and alcohol addiction, murders, and domestic and sexual abuse. The Joel of our day, Lou Engle, has called us to enact the same remedy that promised heaven’s response, ‘consecrate a fast, cry out to the Lord.’ “That a people sitting darkness saw a great light, and those sitting in the land and show of death, upon them a light dawned.’ Matthew 4:16.

Before Jesus was thrust into ministry in the power of Holy Spirit He was first led by Holy Spirit into a 40 day fast. Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-14. He is our example and we intentionally set ourselves to this fast.

There are several words that help give clarity to what it means to consecrate: to be holy, to set apart, separate (remove from common use), prepare, purify.
To consecrate is to intentionally set our body, mind, will and spirit to be holy, purified for the purpose of being filled with righteousness, holy light and love that releases breakthrough for ourself and others.

What we are asking our Father is for the Body of Christ be mobilized across the land to introduce every Alaskan to Jesus Christ. This is no small undertaking, in fact, it’s kind of crazy. The fruit of 1000’s of lasting salvations is predicated on our corporate sacrifice. This is not business as usual for the church of Alaska! This is a challenge from Heaven to break the chains of bondage that are holding captive our precious family members, neighbors, friends and co-workers. We are the answer to years of prayers filling the bowls of incense.

Prayer:

Father, we individually and corporately consecrate ourselves and this next 40 days. We choose to be set apart unto holiness for the purpose of seeing every person in Alaska be introduced to Your Son Jesus Christ in our AKONEDAY mobilization efforts. We say YES, to this window of time. We say Yes, to be the feet, to go with the message of love, freedom, healing and hope. We honor and follow Jesus example of laying down His life for the sake of those who need to know His powerful love. This is our act of spiritual worship to You!
